Selects Grind Out 2-0 Win

In a low-scoring contest between the Spokane Selects and the Walnut Park Bobcats, Tim Sindt, who is tied for 2nd in the StC in complete games with 1, proved to be the difference. The Spokane right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Selects win. The triumph puts Spokane at 35-29 for the season.
The Bobcats had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Selects going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 27-year old first baseman Mark Payne came to the plate. Payne hit a solo home run on a 0-1 sinker from Walnut Park hurler Beau Larson. It was Payne's 5th home run of the year.
Said losing manager Hua Pian: "We've got to find a way to push a run across."
