Sawyer Powers Bobcats to 5-1 Win
The Walnut Park Bobcats and New Rochelle Purple Wave completed their game despite the rain.

Walnut Park left fielder Billy Sawyer played a vital role in his team's 5-1 conquest of New Rochelle. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 2 for Walnut Park. Travis Brenza got the win, improving to 1-6. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 5 hits and 1 run, while striking out 1 and walking 1.

Walnut Park center fielder Curtis White produced at a critical juncture. It happened in the top of the eighth with Michael Klee on the mound and Walnut Park leading 2-1. White hit a sacrifice fly.

"It's good to win," Sawyer told the Walnut Park Observer. "I like to have fun doing it."

The win for the Bobcats raised their record to 37-27.
