New Rochelle pitcher Josh Shropshire did his part in helping his team defeat the Spokane Selects, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. New Rochelle's record now stands at 37-28, placing them third in the Stripes Conference East Division.

Dan Brewer chipped in for New Rochelle, stroking a crucial run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning. For the game, the center fielder was 3-4 with 3 singles and a walk.

"We found a way to get it done," Brewer said.
