Jeff Mitchell, who is tied for 10th in the StC in wins with 6, was terrific for the Ann Arbor Z's in his team's 1-0 triumph over the Spokane Selects. His performance earned Mitchell rave reviews. Mitchell, the winner, moves to 6-5. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. Josh Kuhn picked up the save for Ann Arbor, his 5th of the year.

Richard Ulmer was 2 for 4 with 2 singles for Ann Arbor. The 24-year old right fielder had a key at-bat in the top of the third. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Phil Junell. It was his 37th RBI of the season.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Mitchell.

Ann Arbor is now 39-27.
