The Walnut Park Bobcats downed the Tucson Raccoons, 8-5, at Raccoons Ballpark. Bob Gilmore led the way, going 3-for-4 for Walnut Park. Heath Maughn got the win, improving to 7-3. He worked 6.2 innings, giving up 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 1. Vinny Luna earned the save for Walnut Park, his 2nd of the year.

Walnut Park used a clutch at-bat from Ron Cardwell to capture the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Bobcats ahead, 4-2. It was his lone hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
