The New Rochelle Purple Wave topped the Denver Pilots, 8-3, in Stripes Conference action at Pilots Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to New Rochelle pitcher and West Wyoming, Pennsylvania, native Pat Hiltner. Hiltner got the win, improving to 8-2. He gave up 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 2 runs. The win gives New Rochelle a season record of 37-21.

Early in the game, left fielder Kevin Garber had a run-scoring double for New Rochelle. It was his 6th double of the season and put the Purple Wave on top, 2-1.
