Bruins Lose at Home, 4-1
|
Spokane registered a win at Jackie Robinson Stadium by beating the Westwood Bruins, 4-1. Pitcher Morgan Jenkins was one reason why the Selects triumphed. Jenkins yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 6, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-4. The second-place Selects are now 34-23, the Bruins 31-26.
Tony Bradshaw had a big 2-run home run for the Selects in the top of the sixth inning. With Spokane leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a sinker from Mike Bryan, who is tied for 8th in the StC with a 1.02 WHIP, and punished it. The result was his 11th home run of the season, which put the Selects on top, 4-0.
"Slowly but surely, the wins are piling up," said Bradshaw.
