Purple Wave Rally Late to Nip Raccoons

New Rochelle Purple Wave starter Josh Shropshire turned in an exceptional performance against the Tucson Raccoons at Ballpark of Lexington, resulting in a New Rochelle win, 3-2. Daniel Beckles nailed down the save. The Purple Wave sit in second place in the Stripes Conference East Division with a record of 32-23.
Had Franklin Reyes not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Reyes hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Purple Wave.
"Josh is tough to beat when he's hitting his spots," said New Rochelle manager William Gregg.
