The Orono Oaks had to overcome a fine performance from Denver pitcher Luis Diaz to grab a 3-2 win at University of Maine Stadium. Diaz allowed 2 runs over 7 innings. Orono pitcher Nick Calvache got the win. He's now 1-1. David Pool was tagged with the loss. Orono goes to 39-16, Denver to 27-28.

Orono won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and David Pool on the mound for Denver, left fielder Julio Gonzalez hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Oaks fans to their feet.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Denver manager Adrian Collins. "But we decided not to take it."
