Partons Collect 5-3 Win Over Lumberjacks

The Dollywood Partons took Bangor pitcher Bernie Rios's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Ballpark of Bangor. The final score had Dollywood getting past the Lumberjacks, 5-3. Rios went 5 innings and allowed 3 runs, striking out 8. Picking up his 8th save was 21-year old right-handed pitcher Sean Hill. The Partons, at 68-27, have a comfortable 14-game lead in their division.
Dollywood used a clutch hit from Bob Carpenter to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Partons ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Carpenter.
