London Absorbs 4-0 Loss to Bangor
|
Bangor pitcher Pat Furphy did his part in helping his team beat the London Werewolves, 4-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. In 5.2 innings, Furphy surrendered 1 hit, while striking out 7 and walking 5. He allowed no runs. With the win, Bangor has a record of 44-46. London falls to 49-41.
Bangor won the game in part because of Steve Banks. The catcher ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Lumberjacks ahead, 3-0. For the game, Banks had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
Banks called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
