Victory Over Comets Takes Mexico City to 70-22
|
The Mexico City Aztecs stymied the Kalamazoo Comets, 4-2, at Tony Gwynn Stadium. Alex Melo had a good day at the plate. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs for Mexico City. Ken Griffey recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 16 for 17. Mexico City is sitting pretty at 70-22.
Dean Hostetler had a big 3-run home run for the Aztecs in the bottom of the third inning. With Mexico City leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a curveball from Justin Bunt and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 15th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Aztecs ahead, 4-0.
Mexico City manager Chris Hallman attributed the win to "a little bit of this and a little bit of that."
