The game between Dollywood and Barrie is in the books, despite a little rain.
The Barrie Admirals were defeated, 4-0, by the Dollywood Partons at Dolly Parton Ballpark, even though Graham Renner pitched well for Barrie. Matt Osborne, credited with the win in relief, is now 5-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 4 innings.
Paul Nicolopoulos had a big 2-run home run for the Partons in the bottom of the third inning. With Dollywood leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a sinker from Graham Renner and swatted a home run to left-center. It was his 13th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Partons ahead, 3-0.
Said losing manager Manny Uset: "Give the Partons credit. They played a better game than we did."
The Partons, at 70-22, have a comfortable 20-game lead in their division.
