Lumberjacks Make It 5 In a Row with 3-1 Triumph Over Lake Elsinore

The Bangor Lumberjacks rode a solid performance from 21-year-old starting pitcher Israel Parez to a win, beating the Lake Elsinore Storm, 3-1, at Ballpark of Bangor. Parez got the win, improving to 5-6. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 6.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for Bangor.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Lumberjacks had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when shortstop Josh Lefler hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Jim Unknown and made the score 2-1, Lumberjacks. Lefler went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"Israel was able to locate to both sides, up and down," said Bangor manager Shawn Banks.
