The Columbus Bowsers handed the Kalamazoo Comets a loss at Wizards Stadium. The final score was 10-0. Carlos Malabranca made the highlight reel for Columbus. In addition to his 1 single and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 3. He also added 2 bases on balls. David Procaccini got credit for the win, improving to 9-3. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 6 innings. Alex Lozada earned the save for Columbus, his 1st of the year.
Columbus used a clutch at-bat from Jesse Rupp to capture the win. The center fielder hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Bowsers ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"You start putting runs on the board and winning, everyone's going to get excited," said Malabranca.
The third-place Bowsers have a record of 53-39.
