Nashua Dealt 3-2 Defeat
|
In a tight contest between the Bangor Lumberjacks and the Nashua Sweepers, Mike Lopez was the determining factor. The Bangor right-hander sparkled in his team's 3-2 win. Chris Hall earned the save for Bangor, his 2nd. With the win, Bangor goes to 42-46, while the Sweepers fall to 47-41.
Had Ryan Laycock not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Laycock hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Lumberjacks.
"Tough loss," said Nashua manager Tony Allen. "But we'll learn from it."
