Kalamazoo Gets 5-3 Win
The Kalamazoo Comets picked up a win at Heroes Ballpark, topping the Pueblo Heroes, 5-3. On the mound for Kalamazoo was left-hander Michael Brumfield. He played a principal role in the triumph. Brumfield got the win, improving to 2-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 6.2 innings. He allowed 3 runs. Craig Walker earned the save for Kalamazoo, his 5th of the year.

Tied up with the Heroes in the top of the fifth inning, the Comets got a boost from first baseman Adam Steinmetz. With the bases loaded, Steinmetz saw a first pitch fastball from Steve Sullivan and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Kalamazoo on top, 5-3.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Brumfield said.

The win gives the Comets a record of 26-61.
