3-1 Loss Deepens Long Beach Funk

The Bangor Lumberjacks earned a close win over the Long Beach Keys, thanks in part to Justin Allen. The Bangor right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the S-A with a 9.3 K/9 rate, played a key role in the 3-1 victory. Picking up the save was Jamie Knudson, his 1st. The current losing streak for Long Beach has reached 8 games.
Rob McCoy had a critical at-bat with two out in the top of the sixth for Bangor. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Bangor in front, 3-1.
"Not to be Captain Obvious," said Long Beach manager , "but we need to push more runs across the plate."
