Sweepers Lasso 5-4 Victory
|
Despite a great performance by London designated hitter Greg Mattox, the Louisville Sweepers defeated the Werewolves by the score of 5-4 at Werewolves Ballpark. Mattox was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The third-place Sweepers hiked their record to 40-48.
Louisville took a 5-3 lead on Phil Bohler's 15th home run of the season. The solo home run, which Bohler hit in the top of the ninth, left London pitcher Ben Foster visibly frustrated.
Bohler attributed the win to his team's "grittiness."
