The Pueblo Heroes downed the Kalamazoo Comets, 8-4, at Wizards Stadium. Dillon O'Neill led the way, going 3-for-5 for Pueblo. Phil Shull picked up the win, lifting his record to 4-7 on the season. He struck out 6 and walked 1 in 5 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Pueblo has now won 5 straight, while the Comets have lost 5 in a row.

Juan Martelo had a big 2-run home run for the Heroes in the top of the sixth inning. With Pueblo leading 5-4 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Stuart Blankenship and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Heroes on top, 7-4.

"Solid performance from our side," said Heroes manager Jeremiah Simpson.
