Aggies Subdue Bangor, 5-3
|
The Atlanta Aggies faced a tough opponent in Bangor pitcher Nolan Estes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Aggies Ballpark by a final score of 5-3. Estes went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. Jon Ramirez, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Jeremy Killian recorded his 14th save for Atlanta.
Atlanta went in front, 4-3, on Caleb Herendeen's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Herendeen hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Bangor pitcher Manny Velez visibly perturbed.
"It was a good effort all around," said Herendeen.
Bangor has now lost 4 consecutive games.
