Danny Martinez made an impact in the 6-3 Columbus win over Lake Elsinore. Martinez, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2024 draft, went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Joe Giunta got the win, improving to 2-1. He worked 5.1 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Steve Wright, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.

Columbus took a 6-2 lead on Martinez's 3rd double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which he hit off Jesus Garcia in the top of the sixth, propelled Columbus to the win.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Columbus manager Joe Mills.

With the win, the Bowsers improved to 34-44.
