Good production from catcher Rod Samarripa helped the Mexico City Aztecs topple the Kalamazoo Comets, 7-5. Samarripa was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Aztecs. Mexico City is now 49-29, Kalamazoo 22-56.

With two out in the bottom of the fifth, Bill Gonzalez put Mexico City in front, 2-1, with a run-scoring single. The Aztecs went on to win the ballgame.
