The Louisville Sweepers had to overcome a fine effort from Lake Elsinore pitcher David Hunt to win, 4-2, at Dust Devils Ballpark. Hunt went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. Morgan Felty recorded his 2nd save for Louisville. The 4th-place Sweepers improved to 34-44.
Phil Bohler came through with a big-time hit for Louisville. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Louisville manager Steve Reid called it "a darn good win."
