Comets Suffer One-Run Loss at Bangor
|
The Bangor Lumberjacks handed the Kalamazoo Comets a 4-3 defeat at Ballpark of Bangor. Center Fielder Brett Lamb starred for Bangor. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. John Mills earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The win for the Lumberjacks raised their record to 54-23.
Lamb had a timely hit for Bangor in the bottom of the sixth. With Bangor trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-0 cutter into a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season, making it 4-3, Bangor.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Bangor manager David Whigham.
