Malabranca 4-for-4 to Power Bowsers Offense
|
The Columbus Bowsers cut down the Bangor Lumberjacks by the score of 4-2, with the largest share of the credit going to center fielder Carlos Malabranca. Malabranca went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once for the Bowsers. Oliver Murga picked up the win, lifting his record to 8-4 on the season. He struck out 4 and walked 0 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 2 runs. The win puts Columbus at 44-32 this season.
Malabranca contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Columbus in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-0, Malabranca took a slider from Mike Lopez and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the Bowsers to leap in front, 3-2.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Malabranca.
