Lumberjacks Handle Columbus, Snag 7-2 Win
|
Riding the 2-hit performance of the 23-year old right fielder John Jimenez, the Bangor Lumberjacks defeated the Columbus Bowsers, 7-2. Will Clark picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 1 run on 5 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 1-1. By defeating Columbus, the 5th-place Lumberjacks improved to 36-39.
The Lumberjacks had to work out of trouble with one out in the top of the ninth. The score was 7-1, Bangor. But Columbus, with the bases loaded, had mounted a threat. Albert Garcia dug in at the plate. But on a full count cutter, Garcia grounded out.
