Partons Get Extra-Inning, 3-2 Win
|
The Dollywood Partons faced a tough opponent in Kalamazoo pitcher Jeremy Adams, but found a way to pull out the victory at Dolly Parton Ballpark by a final score of 3-2 in 10 innings. Adams went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. Dollywood reliever Andy Roberts picked up the win to move to 2-0. Kevin Martinez suffered the loss. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Partons.
The game-ending blow was delivered by Colby Freese in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he hit a run-scoring double off 19-year old right-handed pitcher Kevin Martinez to win it for Dollywood and cause the home crowd to erupt in celebration.
"It was a solid team effort," said Freese after the game.
