Stovall Rips 2 Homers in 7-1 Win
|
The umbrellas came out during the Nashua-Barrie contest at Stadia de Leones.
The Nashua Sweepers defeated the Barrie Admirals by the score of 7-1, with the biggest share of the credit going to catcher Colt Stovall. Stovall was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice for the Sweepers on the day. At 26-47, the Sweepers claim 5th place in the Southern A East Division.
Tyler Humes had a big solo home run for the Sweepers in the top of the second inning. With Nashua leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a changeup from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Strong and punished it. The result was his 4th home run of the season, which put the Sweepers on top, 2-0.
"What's not to like about a win?" said Humes.
