Tropics Victorious at Bangor, 3-0
|
White Deer Tropics starter Oscar Orduno pitched his team past the Bangor Lumberjacks, 3-0. In 6 innings, Orduno surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 2 and walking 1. He allowed no runs. Scott Robertson closed the game out for White Deer, earning his 12th save.
White Deer needed the clutch hitting of David Van Sant to seal the deal. The first baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Tropics on top, 1-0. For the game, Van Sant had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Oscar giving us the start that he did was huge," said White Deer manager Wil Olivares.
The Tropics now have a record of 39-33 with the win over Bangor.
