Keys Victors, 6-5, at Kalamazoo
|
Wizards Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Long Beach Keys and Kalamazoo Comets.
The Long Beach Keys had to overcome a big game from Kalamazoo first baseman Miguel Garcia to leave Wizards Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Garcia went 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 3 runs. Aaron Santiago picked up the win, lifting his record to 1-3 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 5.2 innings, while yielding 3 runs.
Long Beach used the hitting of Jack Ficca to pick up the win. The second baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the third inning to put the Keys on top, 6-2. For the game, Ficca had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Kalamazoo manager Morgan Van Dyke.
After today's action, Long Beach sits at 10-62, while Kalamazoo falls to 27-45.
