Mattox Stars for Werewolves in 8-3 Win
The London Werewolves finished off the Nashua Sweepers, 8-3. Much of the credit belonged to designated hitter Greg Mattox. Mattox went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2 for the Werewolves. London pitcher Jim Autore earned the win, hiking his record to 6-1. Daniel Williams suffered the loss. The victory gives London a record of 48-22.

London used a clutch at-bat from Mike Jamin to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the first inning to put the Werewolves ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

Jamin told a London Daily News reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.
