McCoy, who is tied for 2nd in the S-A in runs scored with 55, went 1-3 with a home run and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Picking up his 3rd save was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Davey Swenson. Mexico City has run its win streak to 4 straight.

The Aztecs got a big hit from second baseman Bill Gonzalez. Facing Lake Elsinore pitcher Manny Padilla in the bottom of the fifth, Gonzalez pounded a run-scoring double to left. His 2nd double of the season put the Aztecs ahead, 4-3.
