Thanks in large part to first baseman Greg Mattox, the London Werewolves beat the Lake Elsinore Storm, 7-5. Mattox was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Jose Sanches, credited with the win in relief, is now 4-5. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. Ben Foster, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.

Mattox had a game-changing home run in the top of the eighth. On a 2-1 curveball from Jim Unknown, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Werewolves a 7-5 lead. It was the 5th home run of the year for Mattox.

"It never gets old," said Mattox. "Winning, that is."

By defeating Lake Elsinore, the 4th-place Werewolves improved to 30-40.
