The Long Beach Keys needed 10 innings to defeat the Louisville Sweepers, 13-8, at Miller Park. Long Beach right fielder Joe Chennault had a superb performance. He belted 3 home runs, while adding 7 RBI and scoring three times. The win belonged to Jim Unknown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Adam Black took the loss for Louisville. The Keys raised their record to 24-42.

Tyler Ashikaga came through with a big-time hit for Long Beach. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give his team the lead, 9-8. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Chennault told the Long Beach Citizen.
