|
Riding the 3-hit performance of the 19-year old first baseman Miguel Garcia, the Kalamazoo Comets defeated the Nashua Sweepers, 4-2. Kalamazoo reliever Justin Tarin snagged the win, upping his record to 4-2. Mark Williams shouldered the loss. The triumph makes Kalamazoo 17-51.
The game was decided with two out in the bottom of the ninth. With Kalamazoo trailing 2-1, Garcia jumped on a cutter from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Mark Williams and hit a 3-run home run to left. With one swing, the Comets had a walk-off win.
"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said Garcia.
