Partons Win Another One, 6-1
|
Jeremy Harrison was terrific for the Dollywood Partons in his team's 6-1 triumph over the Columbus Bowsers. His performance earned Harrison rave reviews. The winner was Harrison. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Gil Carroll. Dollywood is now 51-12. Columbus is 36-27.
Colby Freese had a big 2-run home run for the Partons in the top of the first inning. With Dollywood leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a knuckle curve from 18-year old right-handed pitcher Gil Carroll and punished it. The result was his 12th home run of the season, which put the Partons on top, 3-0.
"Jeremy is one tough son of a gun," said Dollywood manager Adam Freeman.
