Victory Over Werewolves Takes Dollywood to 53-11
|
The Dollywood Partons beat the London Werewolves, 6-2, at Dolly Parton Ballpark. The Partons got a fine performance from designated hitter Chris McCarty, who went 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The winner in relief was Josh Banks. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-0. The Partons bumped their record to 53-11 with this win.
In the top of the seventh, Matt Batdorf stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Werewolves were trailing 5-1, but had the bases loaded. That's when Jonathan Powell made a terrific pitch and Batdorf grounded out. Gone was the dream of a London comeback.
