Bowsers Need Extra Innings to Top Admirals, 4-2
|
The Columbus Bowsers faced a tough opponent in Barrie pitcher Graham Renner, but still scratched out a win at Stadia de Leones by a final score of 4-2 in 14 innings. Renner went 9 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Scott Chrysler in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jesus Ochoa took the loss. Picking up the save was Art Cohen, his 2nd.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Robby Parra? The 25-year old center fielder Parra stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 14th inning to put Columbus up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 6, including 1 double and 1 single.
"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Manny Uset.
After today's action, Columbus sits at 37-25, while Barrie falls to 37-25.
