Sweepers Take Down Bowsers, 8-5
|
The Nashua Sweepers beat the Columbus Bowsers, 8-5, at Ballpark of Columbus. The Sweepers got a fine performance from first baseman Joe Pettit, who was 4-7 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Nashua, now 30-30, holds down second place in the Southern A East Division.
Nashua used a clutch hit from Tim Royal to snatch the win. The left fielder belted a 3-run home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Sweepers ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Royal told the Nashua Observer.
