Comets Earn 4-3 Win Against Tropics
|
The Kalamazoo Comets in 10 innings downed the White Deer Tropics, 4-3, at Wizards Stadium. Travis Letner led the way, going 3-for-6 for Kalamazoo. The win belonged to Jim Unknown in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Luis Aguirre took the loss for White Deer. The Comets saw their record improve to 31-28.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With no one out, Letner hit a fastball from Max Beltran for a run-scoring single. The Comets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
After the game, Kalamazoo manager Malcolm Griffin applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
