Columbus Bowsers starter Ernesto Correa turned in a top-notch performance against the Bangor Lumberjacks at Ballpark of Bangor. The result was a win for the Bowsers, 3-1. The winner was Correa. He threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball. The loser was Jeremy Reich. The save went to Nate Troyer, his 3rd this season.

Columbus used a clutch at-bat from Alex Mareno to capture the win. The first baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Bowsers ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.

"I felt good up there," said Mareno. "I saw the ball well."

By defeating Bangor, the 4th-place Bowsers improved to 23-34.
