Losing Trend Continues for Kalamazoo
|
In a low-scoring affair between the London Werewolves and the Kalamazoo Comets, pitcher Rick Hill was the difference between victory and defeat. The London right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Werewolves win. The winning pitcher was Hill, now 5-2. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 5. The second-place Werewolves have won 4 consecutive games.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Micah Smith didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Kalamazoo trailing 3-1, Smith retired Scott Dawson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Smith, with a wink.
