Pat Higginbotham brought his A-game to help Columbus defeat the Bangor Lumberjacks, 4-1. Joey Byler notched his 7th save of the season. Today's win puts Columbus at 21-33, while Bangor falls to 34-20.
Higginbotham, the winner, is now 2-2. In 8 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 3 hits, while collecting 6 Ks. He essentially shut down the Bangor offense.
"It's a mindset," said Higginbotham. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
