The Columbus Bowsers locked up a win at Ballpark of White Deer, knocking off the White Deer Tropics, 6-0. On the mound for Columbus was right-hander Rey Tovar. He played a major role in the triumph. Tovar, now 4-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing no runs. The defeat makes White Deer 29-26.

Columbus left fielder Carlos Malabranca contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a fastball to right field for a 2-run single. It was his 59th hit of the season and put the Bowsers ahead, 2-0.

"It was a solid team effort," said Malabranca after the game.
