Whistlers 2-1 Victors Over Invaders
|
Fans watched the Boston Whistlers and the Oakland Invaders fight to the finish.
The Oakland Invaders wasted an inspired, 6.1-inning effort from starter Randy Fischer, falling, 2-1, to the Boston Whistlers at Howard Terminal. Dusty Thomas recorded his 3rd save for Boston.
Brian Roseman, who finished 2nd in the AC in home runs with 53 in 2023, took Oakland hurler Randy Fischer deep in the top of the sixth. His 2-run home run put the Whistlers on top, 2-1. In all, Roseman had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
Boston manager Mike Plocher called it "a pretty good win."
At 32-27, the Whistlers find themselves in first place in the American Conference Central Division.
