Giants Suffer 4-1 Road Loss

Montreal and Detroit got after it at Expo 67 Stadium.
The Montreal Maroons knocked off the Detroit Giants, 4-1, in American Conference action at Expo 67 Stadium. Montreal pitcher and Santa Teresa, Venezuela, native Andres Moran had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Moran, now 10-9. He tossed 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 2. Ron Faulkner closed it out for Montreal, earning his 42nd save.
Danny Aranda had a big 3-run home run for the Maroons in the bottom of the first inning. With Montreal leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a cutter from Quito Herrera, who is tied for 7th in the AC in wins with 15, and punished it. The result was his 7th home run of the season, which put the Maroons on top, 4-0.
"Felt great, felt really good," said Moran.
At 72-87, the Maroons find themselves in last place in the American Conference North East Division.
