Curtis Gring, who is tied for 9th in the AC with a 9.6 K/9 rate, was terrific for the Fountain Hills 23ers in his team's 8-1 triumph over the Detroit Giants. His performance earned Gring rave reviews. The win puts Fountain Hills at 55-104.

Gring earned the win, going 7 strong innings for Fountain Hills. The right-hander allowed just 3 hits, while striking out 9. Detroit hitters had little success against him.

"I just trusted my stuff," said Gring.
