The Chicago Gangsters beat the Indianapolis Eagles, 5-4. Chicago pitcher and Pueblo, Colorado, native Butch Saulters led the way. The Gangsters sport a record of 53-97.

The decisive blow was delivered by Willie Bazaldua in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a run-scoring double off 25-year old left-handed pitcher Vince Rice to win the game for Chicago. The home crowd went nuts.

"I found a nice groove out there," said Saulters.
