Boston Tacks 4-3 Loss on Toronto
|
The Toronto Trash Pandas and Boston Whistlers riveted fans at Whislters Park.
The Boston Whistlers knocked off the Toronto Trash Pandas, 4-3, in American Conference action at Whislters Park. Boston pitcher and Monterey, California, native Danny Offen had an outstanding performance. The American Conference Central Division-leading Whistlers are 82-67.
Had Tim Lotz not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 3rd, Lotz hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Whistlers.
Toronto manager Walt DeRosier said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
