Bloom, Scorpions Too Much for Eagles
Thanks in large part to right fielder Jason Bloom, the Syracuse Scorpions beat the Indianapolis Eagles, 8-6. Bloom was 3-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 4. Syracuse pitcher Eric Willhite earned the win, hiking his record to 1-0. Mike Watts suffered the loss. Jared Hall earned the save, his 3rd.

Bloom had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the eighth, when he hit a run-scoring single. The Scorpions went on to win.

In postgame comments to the Syracuse Today, Bloom said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The win has Syracuse at 52-96.
