Boston Earn 9-6 Victory at Ballpark of Charleston
Though he had a terrific game, Nick Wisniewski could not prevent his team, the Charleston Sea Dogs, from absorbing a loss. Boston won the game, 9-6. Wisniewski was 4 for 4 with a double and 3 singles. He scored 2 times. Danny Offen, who finished 3rd in the AC in wins with 16 in 2022, was the winning pitcher. Over 7 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 7 strikeouts. Boston, at 78-66, occupies first place in the American Conference Central Division.

Boston won the game in part because of Brian Roseman. The third baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Whistlers ahead, 8-5. For the game, Roseman had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

"We maximized our offense today," said Boston skipper Mike Plocher. "That makes everyone's life easier."
