Syracuse right-hander Ivan Medina pitched his team to victory over the Boston Whistlers at Whislters Park. The final score was 6-2. Medina, now 7-13, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. Picking up the save was Ken Allbaugh, his 26th.

Syracuse designated hitter Guillermo Ramos contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the first. With two down, he hit a fastball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 84th hit of the season and put the Scorpions ahead, 3-0.

"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Medina.

The Scorpions improved their record to 60-82 by beating Boston.
