Shortstop Stowe goes 3-for-4 in Boston Win
The performance of Evan Stowe proved critical in helping Boston beat Carolina, 9-4. The Whistlers shortstop was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. Matthew Rowlands was the winner. He's now 9-7. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Jake Triplett. The triumph puts Boston at 75-62 for the season.

The Whistlers got an important contribution from second baseman Jeff Beeson, who in the bottom of the first knocked a first pitch changeup to right for a 3-run home run. It was his 16th home run of the season and put the Whistlers ahead, 4-0.

"It was a solid team effort," Beeson said. "That's usually what it takes to win."
